Today we played our 4th game this season, our 4th game in the B league.
We had a few unsuccessful pre season friendlies and our first two league games were a real eye opener. The boys had to up their game. Last week we had a bad game. At training we spoke about how we can step our game up, and this is what they did this week.
The boys worked hard for each other, they were passing and moving, supporting each other, communicating, staying in their position so their were no gaps but most of all they played as the great team I know they are. We might not have got the result they deserved but they really stepped their game up. It was a great game to watch, a game that could have gone either way. The ball was constantly up and down the pitch, we attacked well as a team and defended well as a team. Keeping our shape and making it difficult for the opposition to gain the advantage.
The oppositions manager commented on what a great team they are and how they have developed in such a short space of time.
We knew going up a league was going to be hard, but the boys are up for the challenge and are ready for the rest of the season. It’s great to see the boys developing as a team and as individuals.
A big well done to all the lads. I’m proud of them all.
